• After 20 years of playing self taught guitar I decided to take lessons. Jean Jacques teaching has been incredibly effective. He has adapted to what I already knew and has been adding all the missing bits, like putting just the misplaced or missing pieces of the puzzle where they are supposed to be. This is what a great teacher does and he does it intrinsecally. I highly recommend him.

I am a beginner transitioning to intermediate guitarist and in a few short lessons he really transformed my approach to the guitar and gave me invaluable tips as well as taught me a bunch of songs. He is a master guitarist and musician, evident from the way he deconstructs songs in seconds, and is a very good teacher who will really focus on your particular areas that need improvement. His teaching style is patient and fun. Also he has a really cute dog, Mack, that sits in on lessons! i really enjoyed my time working with him and plan on continuing to learn from him in the future

  • Ive been playing guitar for a number of years, and working my way through tab after tab. The first session I had with Jean-Jacques completely changed my view and appreciation of music and music structure! We went right back to basics and rebuilt my approach to the guitar from the ground up in a way that included aspects of culture, of history, of music theory in practice and then applying to my music and playlists. His flexible and student centric approach to learning is commendable! I couldn't recommend learning with Jean-Jacques enough!

  • JJ is a very good teacher, he is funny and qualified. He makes students pick their own favorite songs and teaches how to play them. i would recommend JJ as your teacher even if you are a complete beginner, he is very patient and kind!

  • Definitely 5 stars. Jean-Jacques is a great musician and a great teacher, two things that not always go together. According to my needs, in his lessons he combined music theory with guitar practice. He's friendly and professional and I learned quite many licks and techniques with him. During my year in Amsterdam, his lessons were one of my weekly highlights. Absolutely recommended.
