My name is Jean-Jacques Rojer and I’m a guitarist/composer from the Caribbean island of Curaçao. I’ve been living in Amsterdam for the past 13 years and I have a music degree from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where I graduated cum laude in 2003.

I have had the privilege of playing at many prestigious venues and festivals, e.g. , the “Concert Gebouw” , Carnegie Hall and at The Lincoln Center. My album “Soko” (Sunnyside records) was recorded and released in New York and it features Grammy award winner Jeff “Tain” Watts on drums, alongside a stellar cast of musicians including the amazing Warren Wolf on vibraphones.

Next to playing and composing, I also dedicate myself to tutoring the wonders and mysteries of the guitar to students of all levels, styles and ages. Although I’m specialised in jazz and ”world music” I’m also well-versed in rock/blues, classical guitar and the piano.
